Book Review: ‘The Weaver And The Witch Queen: A Novel’ By Genevieve Gornichec

Gunnhild, Oddny and Signy have been friends since they were a young age, and have made a blood vow to always be there for each other. When Gunnhild is 12 she takes off with a witch to learn how to be one. Years later, Oddny and Signy are attacked, and Gunnhild is able to use her powers to save Oddny, but Signy is taken. The two reunite and vow to find her and bring her back. It leads to Eirik, a future Viking leader of Norway, an arraigned marriage, and a quest to find Signy, but there are other forces at work against them, namely three witches that have a vendator against Gunnhild, and prophecy that was foretold when the three girls were young. Now it will take everything she has to save Signy, and her own life. This is a great novel, that keeps you engaged throughout. Fans of magic, witches, Vikings, and Norse history will love this one, as will just about anyone else. This is a real page-turner, and one of the best books I have read this summer.

You can pick up The Weaver And The Witch Queen in stores on Tuesday, July 25th from Ace.
