Holly, who is 30, has returned to Cape Cod to run the Cranberry Inn, which her grandmother owns. She has the summer to get the place profitable, or they may have to shut down. Along for the ride is a group of employees who work at the inn, and all have things going on. Also back in town is Ben, the first love of Holly’s life, until she dumped him years ago. He is working with his brother on an oyster farm. They reconnect and have a date, and old feelings come to the surface. When Ben’s law firm calls and asks him to come back to work early, it could ruin what is going on between them. This is a great character-driven novel that follows along with the characters as they work, play, fall in love, and become a family. A perfect 4th of July weekend novel that only author Hannah McKinnon could write.
