Jacqueline Matthis writes love stories and hasn’t been successful in love herself. With book sales down, she decides she needs to do something to jump-start her career, and gets picked to be on a reality show called The 1. She plans to get as much airtime as possible and is not looking for love with the lead man, Marcus. Complications arise when she sees Henry on the set, a man she had a one-night stand with, and it turns out he’s a producer on the show. As production begins, Marcus is smitten with her and the other women don’t like her, making her the villain of the season. She has to figure out if she’s going to stick to her plans, or maybe she wants to find love with Marcus or Henry. This is a really fun novel, with a look at the behind-the-scenes of a reality show, but it’s Jacqueline we get invested in and like these type of TV shows, this is a bingeworthy novel that you will not want to put down.
