Loretta arrived in Hollywood in 1951 and the town will never be the same again. She’s from England and has dreamed of being a make-up artist. She meets a man, marries him, gets a make-up job and is taken to a sex party by a Hollywood actor, where she learns the downside of Hollywood. Kicking him out of her life, she gets a job as a studio makeup artist (her dream), working with some big-time actresses. When the time comes, she can get revenge on bad people via her makeup. She also becomes friends with a unique group of people, and may even find love again. One thing is for sure….you don’t mess with Loretta Darling. This is a really fun, well-written novel, with a great character in Loretta and her supporting cast of characters. This one is a winner.
