For Bells Walker, 43 years old and her family big changes are coming and not ones they wanted or expected. On the day she finds out that she is pregnant after her IUD failed, her husband Harry finds out he didn’t get tenure at his college and will be out of a job. That means that the apartment they live in will be gone as well. That means the online newspaper she writes funny columns for is out. Throw in a high school son named Sam and a teenage daughter named Alice and things get crazy. They have to move from the city to a small town about an hour north called Pigkill (no joke on the name), where Harry has gotten a job. No one wants to move there and then they see their new house, where the kitchen is in the garage off of the house. Harry loves his new job, the kids hate their new schools and Bells is made fun of by the new moms she meets for being pregnant and new. She soon starts a column again for her newspaper under an assumed name and it’s all about the gossip and these new people she meets. It’s a success but everyone wants to know who County Dutchess is. And sure enough it gets out that it’s Bells and all hell breaks loose. Her family is furious because she did this and took it too far. Now the only question is can she get their forgiveness and that of her new community.

This is a fun, well-written book with some LOL moments. Small town gossip at its finest. I was rooting for Bells all the way through this story. And so will you when it releases on Tuesday, April 6th.
