Ember Lee Cardinal lives in Oklahoma City, is a Chickasaw citizen, drives a crappy car and works at a horrible bowling alley. Her dream is to be an accountant, and keeps getting turned down for jobs. She decides to spruce up her resume with lies and finally gets a job as an accounting assistant at a startup firm called Technix. When she meets one of the IT guys, Danuwoa, there’s an immediate attraction, he is Cherokee and is hot. The company doesn’t like employees dating, but the heat between them gets hot. While away on a work trip they finally give in to their passion and have hot sex. Then things go downhill fast. Someone sees them together, he threatens to expose them. Fearing for both their jobs, she does things she shouldn’t do, gets caught, her lies exposed and loses Danuwoa. She decides that she needs to fix things in her life and makes a grand gesture to win back the man she loves. This is a fun debut novel from author Nava. You root for these two characters to be together and follow their journey. Fans of rom-coms will eat this one up.
