In 1974, Chip Bishop was diagnosed with leukemia, and took off for the summer, never telling his family where he went or what he did. He went to the Poconos, to a resort called the Red Maple Inn. He died shortly after he returned home. In 1975, his sister Maggie graduated from high school, and visited the inn to find out what the last days of his life were like. She meets the people who were there at the time, and learns about what his life was like while there. Hearing about his adventures and knowing that he was loved, she is finally able to let herself heal from his loss and move on with her life. This is a heartwarming story of love and loss, at its core, it’s about family. Following along with Maggie on her journey will put a smile on your face.
