A camp in the middle of the desert, Camp Hayden, where Army Rangers are training with giant robots in war games, one of the Rangers is dead, and it looks like one of the robots is responsible. CID officers Scott Brodie and Maggie Taylor are sent there to investigate what is going on. When they get there, they find things in chaos, drug use, and 60 robots asleep at the moment. As they investigate, things are not adding up, and slowly they start learning secrets about the people in charge and what is going on with the robots. It seems they have evolved on their own and have become dangerous. It leads to a shocking showdown between Brodie, Taylor and the Rangers that are still alive. This is the last book written by author Nelson DeMille, before he died, along with his son, Alex. It’s another thrilling novel in the series, which is all action. Fans of the first two will enjoy this one. Here’s hoping Alex will continue to write this series!
