The year is 1816 and Emeline is 21 years old and still not married. She’s had a secret affair with a British Navy soldier, and they’re secretly engaged, which doesn’t happen and turns into a scandal at a party one night. Emiline is told that she’s to be the third wife to a rich widower, Captain Graves, his first two wives died in childbirth. She will be sent to a seaside manor, called Faraday House. When she gets there, she discovers the second Mrs. Graves is still alive, but very sick and expected to die at any moment. Things here are not at all what they seem, as strange things happen at the house, and with the help of a reverend, and Mrs. Graves, she’s determined to figure out what’s going on. This is a ghostly, gothic, fun, haunting mystery, with some well-timed twists and turns.
