Hannah Spencer is a travel influencer, who has traveled the country in her van for five years, along with her great dane, Dude. Simon O’ Malley works in insurance and is a caretaker for his older brother, who had an accident years ago. Both have inherited the same beach house in North Carolina. When Hannah gets there, expecting to owns the place, she’s shocked to see Simon, who thought he had inherited the place. It turns out both of their late Grandfathers each owned half the house, and they each got half of the house. There is a stipulation that they have to stay there for two months before they can do anything with the house. Hanna wants to keep it, while Simon wants to sell it. As the days go by, they become friends, meet their awesome neighbors, and learn a shocking secret about their granddads, and soon learn about their lives. Soon, the attraction becomes too much, and they have hot sex and fall for each other. When Simon’s horrible father makes a threat to Hannah, it could be the end of them. This is a great rom-com watching the two fall in love and work to trust each other. The supporting cast of characters highlights this novel, especially Dude the dog. Beware, you will need some tissues at the end when each gets notes from their late grandfathers. A perfect Memorial Day read.
