The year is 1927 and Salomon Rosman has commissioned twin bracelets for his wife. They are two different bracelets that can connect together. They were taken during WWII, in 1942, by the Germans and the family was arrested for being Jews. Annable Marceau was a friend to the family and a jewel thief who helped the resistance. She stole it back and put each piece in her two daughters dresses. She taught her girls, Colette (14) and Liliane (4), about being thieves, it ran in the family. On this night Annable and the family is arrested and Liliane is taken and later found dead. In 2018 Colette is steal stealing from anyone associated with the Nazi movement and she finds out that one-half of the bracelets will be on display. She has the other half and for 76 years she has wondered what happened in 1942. She is about to be in for the shocks of her life as investigations and questions are asked of people who were there back then and still alive and she will finally get the answers she has been looking for. This novel is GREAT! One of the best WWII books this year. It has well-written characters and a story that is hard to put down. One of the best books of the year.
