The year is 1992 and Marion Brooks has been invited to Radio City Music Hall to a celebration of the Rockettes, she was one back in 1956, against the wishes of her father. Flashback to then, and we follow Marion’s story, she was a dancer, who lost her job, and auditioned to be a Rockette, and was picked. It made her father mad, but she took it anyway. The city has been under attack for years from a man who has been leaving bombs, called the Big Apple Bomber, who has a connection to Marion’s father, and place of work. When he hits close to home, Marion is able to somewhat identify him, and it puts her life in jeopardy. When she figures out who it is, the reveal will put not only her own life in jeopardy, but those of her fellow dancers, and her father. The story is based on a real life bomber who terrorized New York for years (this is the first I have heard about this). Author Fiona Davis has once again written a great novel, based on the story. It’s keeps you engaged throughout, and adds to her stellar resume of books.
