Author Renee Rosen writes the best novels and her new one does not disappoint. It’s a beautifully written novel set in the late 1800′ and looking a rivarlry that I never knew about. She has done a great job in her research and bringing this story to life. In the society world of Manhattan in 1876 two women vie for the top spot…Caroline Astor and Alva Vanderbilt. Mrs. Astor has been on the top of the heap but Alva is determined to overthrow her. They each try to out manuever each other and it sometimes leads to horrible things being done. They have to deal with lots of personal issues and soon each comes to understand that there’s more to life than being rich and famous and accepted into society. For fans of historical fiction novels, this one is another in the long list of releases in the genre.

You can pick up The Social Graces in stores on Tuesday, April 20th from Berkley.
