Maiden’s Cove is a seaside village off of Chesapeake Bay and is considered a magical place. They’re rumors that mermaids exist here. For Grace Cleary, it’s a return home with her daughter Bayla, to the only place that feels like home to her. She left years ago when she married Richard, who turned out to be a jerk. She’s taking over the family restaurant after her father has passed away. Feeling lost she calls for her friend Isla, who is rumored to be a mermaid, for help and guidance and sure enough Isla soon appears. Also back is Luke, her brother Ben’s best friend, who is a cook and who Grace had the hots for ten years ago. As the summer progresses, Grace re-connects with Luke, her brother Ben, Isla and the rest of the town, as she works to save the restaurant from going under. Grace has started her life over, but danger is on the horizon when Richard shows up. This is a well-written, heartwarming story of family, friends, love and starting over. A perfect spring beach read.
