Hana Babic is a librarian in Minnesota, who keeps to herself. She has a hidden past, having escaped that was Bosnia 30 years ago. She barely escaped with her life and with a bounty on her head. When Detective David Claypool shows up to tell her that her best friend Amina is dead and was murdered Hana is shocked. She tries to answer his questions, but only up to a certain point. She then decides to investigate on her own and soon finds out more than the police do. It leads to finding a dead body and a shocking reveal involving Amina and her grandson. Now Hana must go on the offensive to find a killed and save Dylan, Amina’s son, who she now has custody of. An intense thriller and a strong female lead in Hana. With flashbacks to her time in Bosnia, it enhances the story, right up to the shocking finale. This one is a winner.
