The sequel to The Eyes Of The Queen is an exciting thriller that contines the greatness of the first novel. It starts off strong and never lets up, using the time of 1577 perfectly. Queen Elizabeth is away and is sick but insists on going home. against the advice of her people. Along the way she’s ambushed and shots are fired and it’s believed she’s been shot and might be dead. That is what her council thinks and plans are being made to get Mary Queen Of Scots as the next in-line for the throne. But Elizabeth is alive and fine and now the task as hand is to find out who was responsible for this ambush, as only a handful of people knew about her coming back and what route. She puts her private secretary Francis Walsingham in charge of the investigation. The Queen also goes to great lengths in the war against Spain. It’s one of those books you don’t want to put down.
