Defense attorney Rob Jacobson is one of the country’s best defense attorneys and is best friends with the former President of the United States, Jack Sherman Cutler, who has been arrested for the murder of former White House attorney, Amanda Harper. She is an ex of Rob, and was having an affair with Jack. They have a sorted history, both had abusive fathers, and both have shared the same women, at different times. Rob should recuse himself from the case, but after a lie detector test, agrees to defend Jack, and gets his former law partner, Jane, a tyrant herself in the courtroom to assist him. We follow the case along in real-time, from the opening statements, to the witnesses, including the salacious testimony from the former President himself, to the jury decision, to the shocking, twisty ending, one you never see coming. This is the debut novel from author Lawrence Robbins, and it’s incredible, one of the best books of the year. It’s one you do not want to put down. Fans of John Grisham legal thrillers will love this novel.
