Allie Lake, who lives in London and is a scientist, and Milo Ford, an actor who lives in America, end up on the same plane; they somehow end up with each other’s cell phones. They end up talking quite a bit and share their lives and other intimate details, waiting for the day Milo is back in London on his way home from a movie shoot. When their messages and Allie’s private online diary are accidentally leaked, they both blame each other and never meet. Two years later, Allie is in Norway working, and Milo arrives to film a documentary with her and her crew. When they finally talk and work things out, they fall for each other and try to plan for a future together, until something happens to tear them apart, and each makes a grand gesture to try and win the other one back. This is a well-written novel with two characters you root for to be together. A perfect end-of-summer rom-com.
