Book Review: ‘The Other Passenger: A Novel’ By Louise Candlish

The new book from author Louise Candlish is a disappointing, predicatable story that you see coming from a mile away. I usually like Louise’s books but this one didn’t do it for me.

Jamie and Kit are friends and take the boat every morning to work along with Steve and others. They go drinking on occasion and hang out. Then Kit goes missing and the last person to see him is Jamie Monday night. He’s picked up the cops and questioned and let go. They ask him about things from the time they first met a year ago. We get flashbacks to various times during their friendship and things that happened. But not everything is as is seems and a plan that was hatched may not be followed through and Jamie may regret decisions he has made. What really happened to Kit and who was responisble?

You can pick up The Other Passenger in stores on Tuesday, July 20th from Atria Books.
