The year is 1939 and the Hitler is invading European countries. In London, Finley is auditioning for parts, she wants to be an actress and is not having much luck. Sebastien is German and half-Jew and has to flee Germany for England, his father was British, so he’s able to get into the country. He meets Finley and there’s an attraction between them. When he answers an ad for a room to rent, it turns out to be in Finley’s home and they soon fall in love. When Sebastien is able to get his young sister to London, she moves in as well. When England is drawn into the war, he enlists for the cause and Finley is heartbroken and worried about him coming back alive. This is another powerful WWII novel, with a great love story to follow along with.
