Noel Post has returned to Salt Lake City after 16 years to see her estranged father, who is dying. She lives in New York City and is a big-time editor at a major book company. Things haven’t been good for her lately. Her husband left her after finding out she was pregnant (she lost the baby) and she found out he was cheating on her. This trip to see her father is suppose to be short but when she arrives it’s too late. Her father has died.
She has inherited everything. His house, a big life insurance policy and his bookstore in town. She’s ready to go back to New York when she gets a call she’s been fired from her job. She starts to take stock in her life. She starts learning things about her father, his business and she soon meets up with Dylan, an old friend and the first boy she ever kissed.
She starts receiving mysterious letters almost everyday and learns shocking secrets about her past at Christmas and who her father really was. On top of that she and Dylan are getting close and if she doesn’t come to terms with her past she may not have a happy future.
A heart-warming Christmas story that will have you shedding a few tears by the time you finish it. This is book number 4 in author Richard Paul Evans’ series and my first time reading one and hopefully not my last time.
You can pick up The Noel Letters in stores on Tuesday, October 27th from Gallery.
