Hurricane Harvey is about to hit the Houston/Galveston area in 2017, and for Jia Shah evacuation is mandatory. She and her son Ishaan drive to her sister, Seema’s, in Sugarland, where the house is on an elevated parcel of land, and they should be safe. Also coming is Raj and Lisa, her husband’s brother and wife. Things are tense in the house with the storm, and lots of secrets that slowly come to light during the hours they’re all together. Then a neighbor shows up, strange noises are heard, and someone is murdered, and one of these people are guilty. A tense, slow building, psychological thriller, that reveals lots of twists and turns, right up to the very end. Fans of these type of novels will enjoy this one, her debut novel.
