Tess Myers is a nurse who met her husband, Daniel Myers, who is a doctor, at the hospital in London, where they both worked. They had a worldwind romance, got married quickly, and two weeks later moved to Bath, where he got a new job. They moved into this huge, furnished house. Tess is very happy until they get into the house. Then Daniel changed, started giving Tess orders, buying clothes for her, and telling her what to do. Tess notices these changes and is getting concerned. Martha is in her 80s and is spying on their house, and she later drops a bombshell on Tess; Daniel was married before, and ask him what happened to his first wife. As the days go by, Tess knows she has to leave or kill Daniel before he kills her, all leading to his shocking secret, and a final confrontation. A solid psychological thriller that gets creepier the more you read. This is one of those books you will not want to put down.
