There’s a small island in England called Ormer, and one of the farms, owned by Rosie and Marty, a lesbian couple who also own their house, which is a B&B, is looking for a manager for their farm shop. Charlie Jones is hired for the job, and she arrives on the island ready to go. It’s there that she meets Charlie Jones a man, with the same name, who is there for the job. Somehow, they both received the letter giving them the job. They decide to both take the job, at half salary, and they are forced to live together, and they both have emotional issues. As the novel goes on, we slowly learn their backstories, and follow along as they become friendly with each other. Then the shocking twists begin. We learn how they both got letters, who is who, and what the real reason that Charlie Jones was hired. Trust me, you will need a scorecard to keep up with everything, there are that many twists. This is a well-written novel that I thought was going to be your average rom-com, but no, no, no…it’s so much more. It’s one of the best twisty novels of the year.
