The year was 2003 in London when the Alperton Angels cult was found out, a lot of people died, a mysterious baby was found, and young people went into hiding, and to this day no one knows where the baby is. Now it is 2021, and true crime author Amanda Bailey is writing a book about it, and plans to find the baby, now that he/she will be 18 years old. She is using everything she can find, old contacts, new contacts, people associated with the case back then. She also finds out another author, named Oliver Menzies, is writing a similar book, and she knows him. They decide to somewhat work together, and soon mysterious things start to happen. At least 5 people she has talked to, or hoped to talk to have died, Oliver is slowly losing his mind, and everything about this case not be what it seems, leading to shocking reveals, and an ending you don’t see coming. Told in story by e-mails, text messages, news clips, lunches and lots of reading. It’s a unique way that author Janice Hallett writes her books, and different from most other novels. It’s intense, and spellbinding. One of the first great books of the new year.
You can pick up The Mysterious Case Of The Alperton Angels in stores on Tuesday, January 23rd from Atria.
