Ethan Harris is a writer and showrunner and has had a hit show, The Murder Show, which has run for 3 years and waiting on a fourth-season pickup. That will have to wait until the writer’s strike is over, and he needs to write a new compelling pitch to get renewed. He decides to go home to Minneapolis to visit his parents and work on his pitch. He meets up with his neighbor, Ro was is a cop, who he went to high school with and they almost became a couple, until the night their friend Ricky was killed, possibly murdered, by a hit-and-run driver. She has been looking into his death now and enlists Ethan, who thinks it could be the story he needs for his show. As they dig, they discover things they didn’t know then, people are being killed and it could lead to her own police department being involved in what has been going on for years. The closer they get to the truth, their lives are in danger and they decide to back off, but it may be too late. A solid thriller, with twists and turns, two interesting lead characters and Ethan’s parents who are a hoot.
