College friends Mariella, Grace, Elin, and Jamie (she came along later) get together for book clubs and have been friends forever. They often get together for weekend book trips. This one is in Lake Geneva, and all their daughters, who are also friends, come along. A tragic accident takes place, which splinters the group for a while. Now, three years later, they’re getting together at a villa in Lake Como, owned by Mariella. Everyone is attending, and there is plenty of stress among everyone. The trip is going okay with lots of food, drinks, talks about books, and shopping, until the final night. They may reveal shocking secrets, from their lives which could change everything. This is a well-written, character-driven novel by husband and wife, and it’s a twisty, soapy, romantic fun read. Mr. Patterson has another hit on his hands.
