The Morton family is a legacy, rich, powerful family that you do not want to cross. They have a lot of contacts and can take care of any situation. Jessica Morton is a student at Helshire, where her cousin also goes. She is at the age where she has to prove her loyalty to the family, and is told to kill her cousin Peter, which she does. After she does this, her family is happy to give her their blessing. Jessica soon learns that Peter was working with rival families, and she soon meets all the rival family’s younger members herself, and she starts to question if it’s time to bring down her family and those of her rivals if she teams up with them. It leads to shocking reveals, lives in danger, and Jessica having to figure out where she fits in. This is an intense story, at its core about family. This book is a lot of fun, and you will not want to put it down.
