Book Review: ‘The Midnight Lock: A Lincoln Rhyme Novel’ By Jeffery Deaver

The 15th novel in the Lincoln Rhyme series finds the forensic expert in some hot water. He consults for the NYPD and is a witness at a murder trial. The unflappable man ends up having a terrible time on the stand and the perp ends up being found not guilty. The jury pointed to his testimony. He’s soon relieved of having anything to do with the NYPD. His wife Amelia is a NYPD Detective and has started working on a new case involving a man that picks locks and lets himself into women’s apartments and moves things around and eats their food and leaves. He’s known as the Locksmith. He leaves notes written on a newspaper clipping from a certain date. It soon becomes a case of cat and mouse when Amelia and her partner track down the suspect and are in for a surpise, as is the reader with a twist ending. Another solid novel in Lincoln Rhyme series. Author Jeffrey Deaver never disappoints.

You can pick up The Midnight Lock in stores on Tuesday, November 30th from Putnam.
