The year is 1926, in May, and it’s the grand opening of London’s newest upscale hotel, Artemis the guest list for people to come spend the night and party is a list of top-tier guests. One of the guests is Cleo, who is away from her overbearing mother for a week. In a sidestory in the present day, Joe Carberry, a teacher who has lost his job, is following clues about what happened at the Artemis almost one hundred years ago and plans on writing a book, only to find himself in danger when he visits the hotel from people who want the truth to stay buried. This is a page-turning novel that starts off strong and never lets up. Secret after secret, lie after lie, make a twisty, fun novel.
