Anna Vaughn is an actress, and she’s friends with Natalie, another actress. On this night, Natalie is going out and wants Anna to go with her, who declines, she has an early call for her TV series pilot she is working on. When Natalie vanishes, Anna starts tracking her and finds herself being followed. She is soon approached by FBI agent Kevin Matthews, who wants her assistance in finding Natalie, who it turns out is an informant who got involved with some very dangerous men from the Republic. Anna has met the same men, and gets the feeling they have Anna. When her cover is blown, she has to go on the run and soon learns Matthews may not be who he says he is. Anna goes on the offensive and uses the skills she has learned over the years which leads to a climactic showdown. This is another great action-thriller from author Matthew Quirk, who never disappoints. The first great thriller of 2026.
