Anna de Medici inherited her family’s villa in Tuscany, a place that has a reported curse on the women in the family because of a ruby and diamond necklace. As a child living here, she had nightmares and was there when her mother fell down the stairs and died and she might have even pushed her. Now back here after sixteen years, she sees the family’s old butler, who warns her about certain things related to the house. She meets up with her cousins and the woman who was like a sister to her mother. She’s determined to find the lost necklace and uncover the secrets of the house but someone or something doesn’t want her to and she finds her life in danger and is not sure who she can trust. This is a gothic, psychological thriller, with twists and turns and one major one at the end you don’t see coming. A perfect summer and 4th of July read.
