Book Review: ‘The Lost: A Mace Reid K-9 Mystery’ By Jeffrey B. Burton

Book number three in the Mace Reid series, featuring his awesome cadaver dogs, is another winner. Mace is called by the FBI after the home of billionaire Kenneth J. Druckman is broken into and his wife and five year old daughter have been kidnapped. Mace arrives with Vira and the dogs and Vira soon finds the body of his wife. It is now a homicide/kidnapping. Vira has a noise for these things and she heads back to Druckman and Mace soon suspects he has something to do with what happened but has no proof. The FBI is also investigating. Mace gets his girlfriend cop Kimmy to help with some investigating as well and soon they are on the trail of Druckman’s missing daughter and it also involves the Russian Mafia and soon Vira is missing and Mace and Kimmy find their lives in mortal danger. This book has it all…the dogs, solid action and a story that keeps you engaged to the end.
