The year is 2014, and in Silicon Valley, Mario, who is 25, owns a pizza parlor, is barely making any money, and has dreams of making it big. A new tech startup, called MenuAI, is about to offer an IPO Mario remembers how he helped them start the business, and he was promised stock in the company. He could buy 2 percent at a reduced price. The only thing is he can’t sell it for 90 days, the lockup period. When he does sell it, he could make millions; if the company stays solid, it would solve all his problems. While waiting out the time, Mario gets in over his head with a bunch of shady characters, meets a journalist named Jamie, whom he helps out, and they get close. As the day fastly approaches to sell the stock, Mario must figure out what is more important, the money or the truth, and it leads to a life-altering change. This book is great. Following Mario along on his journey to start a new life and get caught up in a world he knows nothing about is intense and you root for him throughout the novel. This one is not to be missed.
