Jasmine was married to Wren when she was 14 years old in China, even though she thought she would be with Anthony, her best friend, until her sudden marriage. She was happy for a while with him, even though she suffered miscarriages and the lost of her baby girl. Wren wasn’t the greatest guy, he cheated, and then Jasmine found out her girl never died. She was able to track her down to New York, and she took off for the United States, and find her girl. She also runs into Anthony, who she hasn’t seen for years, opening up old wounds, and the only job she can find is as a cocktail waitress in a strip club. Rebecca is an editor at a book company, and is married to Brandon, and they have an adopted little girl, the daughter of Jasmine. They everything changes with twist after twist starts being revealed, none of which you see coming. To say any more about the story would be spoilers. This is another outstanding, character driven, twisty novel from author Jean Kwok.
