The women in Daisy Ellering’s family have always had some magic, and she uses her powers to make pies mostly for good, to get answers to things, to try and change bad men and sometimes to kill them, through her business. Women who are in trouble are referred to her and after checking things out she makes deadly pies and delivers them. She gets a request from Jodie, a little out of the ordinary way she gets them and thinks it might be a setup of some sort, she’s with a cop, and he’s abusive to her. She investigates and finds she’s the real deal, and then she vanishes. When she meets Troy, she finds he’s a bad cop, and she makes it her mission to find Jodie and help her out, even if it puts her own life in danger. This is the third book in the series and it’s another good one. Along with her trusty friend Melly and a group of supporting characters, these novels are a lot of fun to read.
