Ella Sanchez is the manager of The Last Page Bookstore in New York City. It’s the dream job she always wanted, and the owner, an elderly man named Leo Martin, has promised to leave the store to her when he dies. After his passing, she thinks the store is hers, until Leo’s grandson, Henry, who he was estranged from, shows up and announces he owns the store. Henry, who couldn’t care less about the store, decides to run it remotely from his home in Tennessee. She is outraged but continues to run the store, and when Henry figures out the store is not doing well, he asks Ella to help come up with ideas to save the store. Soon, there is an attraction between the two, as she shows him around New York, They soon fall for each other, and Ella hopes to be able to save the store and be with Henry as well. This is a heartwarming story, with two characters you root for to be together. A perfect spring beach read.
