Book Review: ‘The Lady Has A Past: A Burning Cove Novel’ By Amanda Quick

Book number 5 in the series is set around Raina Kirk, her new apprentice Lyra, FBI agent Luther Pell and Simon (who has some pyschic abilities). Raina gets a mysterious call and takes off out of town, leaving her new employee in charge. This doesn’t sit well with Luther, who feels something is wrong. So he teams up with Simon and Lyra to try and track her down. It leads to a rich spa in the desert of California, where Simon and Lyra pretend to be a married couple (and the sparks will fly before the end of the book). Things are not right here and soon Lyra finds herself in danger. As they investigate, they learn where Raina might be and who she really is. A tense showdown ensues and Luther, Simon and Lyra will not stop until they uncover all the dirty secrets of this spa.

Another fun book in the Burning Cove series. It’s a great look at life in the 30’s with stellar characters and a plot that is fun to follow along with. The Burning Cove series is always a lot of fun and author Amanda Quick aka Jayne Ann Krentz never disappoints.

You can pick up The Lady Has A Past in stores on Tuesday, May 4th from Berkley.
