Hercule Poirot and his trusted friend from Scotland Yard Inspector Edward Catchpool are on the way to Kingfisher Hill, a rich estate, to investigate the death of Frank Devonport. They have been invited by his younger brother Richard (who’s finance is in prison and will be hanged for the murder she confessed to). Catchpool has no idea about this investigation. As they get on the bus a mysterious woman claims the seat she’s in will result in her death. So Poirot switches seats. Then another woman on the bus tells him she has committed a murder.
Things just get weirder on the trip. Poirot confesses that there are four mysteries that need to be solved. There cover is blown at Kingfisher but Poirot is determined to solve all the mysteries. Then another murder takes place and now he has claimed that in one week he will have the answers to everything. And Poirot is a man of his word. By careful research her has gotten everyone together and he lays out his case and names the guilty people.
Sophie Hannah has done a masterful job since writing these novels. Agatha Christie would be so proud of her!
