The Jills are the name for the cheerleading squad of the Buffalo Bills. Virginia is one of the dancers, along with her best friend, Jeanine. The job barely pays anything; it actually costs each girl a lot of money to look so good. They get free tickets to the games and occasional public appearances. When Jeanine goes missing, Virginia goes looking for her all over the place. She talks to her ex-boyfriend, her current mobster boyfriend, and it leads her to a world of drugs and gangsters. She’s not the only one looking for her; a man who works for the mob is also after her. When she finally figures out what is going on, it leads to some shocking reveals, and puts her life in danger. This is the debut novel from author Parkman, and it’s a good one. The friendship bonds that propel Virginia are intense, and following her along trying to find her friend is page-turning. This is one you will not want to put down.
