Elinor Gilbert was an FBI agent until she was made the scapegoat for something and lost her job. Now, years later, she is an art teacher, until her former boss, who screwed her over, comes calling for her. He wants her to go undercover as a nanny for a rich couple, Ben and Amber and baby Lily, who owns an art gallery. They think he is working with a cartel, and they want her to find proof. In exchange, she will get back pay, benefits, and her FBI job back. She is given a new look and starts the job, but doesn’t find out anything that might lead back to Ben and dirty money. She soon figures out things are not what they seem, and it leads to a dramatic showdown. This is another exciting thriller that only James Patterson and whichever author he writes with, this time Susan DiLallo, can write. The story is well-written, and the character of Elinor is a strong woman whom you root for. Fans of James will enjoy this one.
