Book Review: ‘The Invisible Life Of Addie LaRue: A Novel’ By V.E. Schwab Is One Of The Best Books Of The Fall

Never make a deal with the devil as it will never work out for you.

Addie LaRue made a deal with the devil almost 300 years ago to give up her soul when she’s finished living. She’s live a long lonely life. She meets people, she has sex with people, she steals things, gets into tough situations and she will never be remember by anyone. The minute she leaves someones sight they forget they ever met her. And every year on the day she made her deal with the devil she calls Luc, he comes to visit her. And each year she refuses to give up her soul. Sometimes in goes years or decades before he visits.

Now it’s 2014 and shes about to be 300 years old. She goes to a bookstore and steals an old paperback book. Henry notices what she did but lets her go. The next day she tries to return the book but Henry asks how can she when she stole it and he remembers her. What? You remember me. She can’t figure out how he could but she’s happy about it. They soon start dating and fall in love.

The question is how can he and what will happen when the devil finds out about this. We soon find out the reason in a massive twist (no spoilers) and learn the shocking secret.

The book goes back and forth in time as we follow Addie from the beginning, various years, cities and meetings with the devil. This book is just GREAT! Author V.E. Schwab may have given us the best love story this year. You root hard following Addie and Henry and want them to be able to make it and be happy. Mark my words you will not want to put this book down.
