Book Review: ‘The Invention Of Sound: A Novel’ By Chuck Palahniuk

Mitzi Ives has a unique job. She’s a foley artist, who records the sounds of screams from real life people, which she then sells to movie studios to use in their movies. We also meet Gates Foster, who lost his daughter Lillian when she was 7 years old and has to this day never stopped searching for her. He also tracks down pedophiles. Also part of the story involves actor Blush Gentry, a fading movie star. Their lives intersect in ways that the readers won’t guess. in this twisty tale that only author Chuck Palahniuk (Fight Club) could write.

This was my first time reading a Chuck book and his story is written in a very unique way that enthralls the reader with darkness and humor at the same time.

You can pick up The Invention Of Sound in stores on Tuesday, September 8th from Grand Central Publishing.
