Author P.T. Deutermann is the King of the WWII novels and he doesn’t disappoint in his latest novel. It’s a fantastic look at ‘The Hooligan Navy’ during the war in the Pacific.
Lt. Lincoln Anderson gets stationed with Navy Medical Corps during WWII and is assigned to the Hooligans as a medical doctor. They are fighting the Japanese in the Pacific ocean and not always with great results. Because of how good he is under the pressure, he gets the nickname of Superman. The Japanese are on a heavy crusade of bombings and injuring American soldiers.
Anderson shows superior skills and leads the division in a tense battle of wills that keeps the reader engaged throughout the story and the awesome battles that ensue. If you’re a fan of P.T. Deutermann’s books you will love this one.
