Alfred Smettle is the owner of a small hotel, and has themed it out like Alfred Hitchcock, in a nod to his favorite filmmaker. With its one-year anniversary coming up, he invited the friends he went to college with, TJ, Samira, Grace, Julius and Zoe, for a reunion. By the end of college they had all gone their own ways, and didn’t really stay close. They all accept the invitation, even though as we learn, they all have secrets and secret grudges against each other, and we learn them all as the days go by in the hotel. Then someone ends up dead, and all the remaining people are suspects and the police search for a killer, and by the end of the book, there’s a shocking twist, as all secrets are revealed. A solid, psychological thriller, with many twists and turns that keep you engaged. A good start to your fall reading season.
