Lexi Villiers is a heir to the British throne, but has removed herself from ever wanting it, and is finishing medical school. Then a helicopter arrives, and she is given the news that her father and brother have both died, and she is now next in line for the throne. Lexi is then given one year to decide if she wants to be the future Queen, and has to deal with people and the press, who were mad at her when she decided to give it all up. Lexi, who was also about to start a romance with her friend Jack, and painful memories of what happened to her mother way on her decision. When she finally makes her decision, things come out that could derail her and the future of the throne. This is a great debut novel, looking at the life of being a royal and one woman’s life, and wanting to do what she wants to do. A twisty, turny novel that you will not want to put down.
