In November, of 1998, in a small English town, four young friends are returning from a night of drinking, with Olivia Rutherford driving. It’s raining, and they’re on the Devil’s Corridor, and Olivia sees someone in the road, swerves and the car flips over. When she wakes up in the car, it’s only her, the three other friends are missing and never seen again. Forward to twenty years later, and journalist Jenna Halliday is in town to do a podcast about what happened twenty years ago. She starts asking questions and interviewing locals, some who want to talk and some that don’t. And she’s rubbed someone the wrong way, and gets warnings to leave things alone. But slowly we start to learn the shocking secrets of this town, and how the past and the present collide, with twisty reveals you don’t see coming. Author Claire Douglas is a master of these novels, and once again delivers a thrilling novel that you will not want to put down. Fans of thrillers will like this one to kick off the new year.

You can pick up The Girls Who Disappeared in stores on Tuesday, January 10th from Harper.
