The eight Sherlock Holmes mystery is another fun, small town novel, featuring the great character of Gemma Doyle. Scarlett House was built in the 1600s, and is now owned by the town, and used as a museum, having been fixed up. Strange things have been happening there lately, and Gemma is asked to check it out, and that maybe it’s haunted. Gemma spends the night there with her friend Jayne, and a few strange things happen, and she’s not sure what to make of it. The next day, Dave (a board member) is found dead in the barn by Jayne and Gemma. It could be an accident, or it may have been murder. Gemma is soon on the case again, as she has solved a bunch of murders in the past. Once again, someone doesn’t want her to figure it out, and her life is in danger. If you’re a fan of this series, you will once again be happy with this one.
