Grace and Frank were married for a long time, and she lost him a year ago to a sudden heart attack. It’s now the one-year anniversary of this death, and for the first time, she goes into his office and sees all the books he loved. He was an avid reader and went to book clubs every week. When Grace’s grandson suggests she start going to his book club meetings, she agrees, although she is not sure why she is not a book reader. When she gets there, she is shocked that there are not a lot of people, and it is a silent reading club. She decides to leave until Annie, one of the members, convinces her to stay, and she soon becomes friends with the members, and they decide to fix this book club and make it something special. Along the way, she learns shocking things about Frank and makes a lot of new friends, and finds her life is worth still living. This is a well-written, character-driven novel that looks at loss and starting life over again. It’s a feel-good novel that will put a smile on your face.
