The sequel to The Last Thing He Told Me is incredible. I didn’t read the first novel, and you don’t have to. This reads as a standalone novel. The writing, the pacing, the characters, and the plot are top-notch. This is a book you will not want to put down. Five years ago, Owen had to go on the run and leave his wife, Hannah and his daughter, Bailey, behind. Now Owen is back, and it means trouble. The two women have to go on the run, and have to use everything they were taught and have learned over the years. They end up in Paris, learn a shocking secret, and set off to a party for one final showdown, which will determine who lives and who dies. This is one of the best sequel novels I have ever read. There’s a reason the first book is a TV series on Apple TV+ and season two premieres on Feb. 20th.
